ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी को बंगाल की दीवानी कब मिली?आख़िरकार 1765 में मुग़ल सम्राट ने कंपनी को ही बंगाल प्रांत का दीवान नियुक्त कर दिया। दीवानी मिलने के कारण कंपनी को बंगाल के विशाल राजस्व संसाधनों पर नियंत्रण मिल गया था।
बंगाल और ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी के नवाबों के बीच क्या विवाद थे किन्हीं तीन कारणों से?1. (क) बंगाल नवाबों ने अपनी शक्ति और स्वायत्तता पर जोर दिया और नवाबों ने कंपनी को छूट देने से मना कर दिया था। (ख) उन्होंने कंपनी को व्यापारिक अधिकार देने के लिए बहुत अधिक धनराशि की माँग की। (ग) उन्होंने कंपनी को सिक्का ढालने का अधिकार देने से मना कर दिया तथा किलाबंदी का विस्तार करने से रोक दिया।
